WinterFest Free Film Screening: WASTED!

WinterFest Free Film Screening: WASTED!

Did you know one-third of all food produced is never eaten? Did you know that a head of lettuce can take up to 25 years to decompose in a landfill?

Wasted! The Story of Food Waste aims to change the way people buy, cook, recycle, and eat food. Through the eyes of chef-heroes like Bourdain, Dan Barber, Mario Batali, Massimo Bottura, and Danny Bowien audiences will see how the world's most influential checks make the most of every kind of food, transforming what most people consider scraps into incredible dishes that create a more secure food system. Wasted! exposes the criminality of food waste and how it's directoly contributing to climate change and shows us how each of us can make small changes -- all of them delicious -- to solve one of the greatest problems of the 21st century.

This showing will take place at the Canton Unitarian Universalist Church, 3 1/2 East Main Street, from 4-5:30 PM, and is part of Canton's WinterFest.

Sponsorship and snacks are provided by our friends at the Potsdam Food Co-op.

If you're planning on completing one of the actions in our MLK Day Action Challenge, don't forget to bring two friends who aren't very familiar with GardenShare or food justice issues!
