Bittersweet Farm is accepting members for their 2021 Workshare Warrior Community Supported Agricultural (CSA). A program designed to promote access to local food without monetary exchange, the Workshare is now in its third year. Members come to Bittersweet for two hours a week, participating in all aspects of the farm in exchange for a farm share. Shares include seasonal produce and products - depending on the time of year, members may get eggs, mixed greens, potted plants, meats, fruits, vegetables or herbs. Farm activities can include transplanting, animal care, greenhouse construction, tractor work, garden maintenance and more. Families and children are welcome, and there are tasks for people of all abilities. No experience is required to join.
The farm is taking every precaution during the pandemic while still ensuring community members have access to fresh, local food. "We are doing all we can to keep this program running and our members healthy," says program director Ann Bennett.
