GardenShare is a locally led, nonprofit organization working to promote a local food system that ensures food security for all St. Lawrence County residents. We do this by connecting consumers and producers, supporting equitable distribution of food resources, removing barriers to access, including stakeholders in decision making, providing food justice education and advocacy, and engaging with community partners.
Since its inception in 1996, GardenShare has gained wide experience and visibility through its efforts to address the root causes of this hunger and poverty. Over the past decade, GardenShare’s work to end hunger has opened our eyes to broader issues of food justice and farming. Today GardenShare embraces a far-reaching vision of a secure and fair food system.
GardenShare unites diverse constituencies — consumers, farmers, environmentalists, business owners and people living on limited incomes — to implement innovative programs that connect food, farming, and rural revitalization. We are looking for individuals that share our passion for a local food system. If you are interested in joining us as a board member, the first step is filing out this form.
